Spaid Takes Second at Penn State Open

STATE COLLEGE- The Bloomsburg University wrestling team participated in the Penn State Open on Sunday in State College, PA.

The top finisher on the day for the Huskies was Mike Spaid (Perkiomenville/Boyertown), who went 4-1 overall, which was good enough for a second place finish in the heavyweight class. At 165 pounds, Ricky Scmelyun (New Oxford/Bermudian Springs) finished with a 6-1 record, which was good enough for a fifth place finish.

Other top finishers for the Huskies included Robert Hoffman (Spring City/Owen J. Roberts), who went 4-2 at 157-pounds, Jason Guffey (Muncy/Warrior Run), who finished 2-2 in the 125-pound weight class and Eric Shaw (Holidaysburg/Holidaysburg), who went 2-2 at 197-pounds.

The Huskies return to action on December 17th when they participate at the Bloomsburg Duals.
